Looking very much like my father, The Candleman, by James C. Christensen, has always been a bit of an inspiration to me. I don’t measure up, I’ve just set my sights there. I like how he is not the source of light, just a bearer of it. I like how he cares for little kids. When it came time to choose a moniker The Candleman was the first thing that came to mind.
I am marred these 35 years to the most wonderful girl on the planet. We have four lovely, grown, daughters. One is married to a fine man, my first son. They have two children, a boy, six and a girl, four, who live right through my back fence and are the apple of my eye.
I am a retired UPS driver. I volunteer several hours a week a the local Juvenile Detention Center and I am Facilitator at three 12 Step Groups. I’m presently remodelling my house after a flooded basement completely totalled the lower level. In that process we decided to move the stairway to a different location, which project has affected all but two rooms upstairs.
I am an active Latter-day Saint, married in the Temple, who loves to serve in the Kingdom. I served a two year mission for the Church in the Philippines. My personal relationship with Jesus Christ is my most prized possession.
I am a jack of all trades, master of none. I have just found life too interesting to focus on one thing while neglecting something else. I love to build, cook, read, bird watch, fish, hike, camp, spot wildlife, and geocache. I’m into photography, genealogy, archaeology, history, biology, paleontology, theology, philsophy. I enjoy, people, travel, the journey, music, my family, children, blogging, learning, and I hate cats!
